We have 3 province rival games going on to set the pace for the rest of the season.
Saturday, May 12 has the Calgary Rage in Edmonton taking on the Edmonton Storm.
Mother's Day - Sunday, May 13 has the Regina Riot in Saskatoon up against the WWCFL 2011 Champions, the Saskatoon Valkyries.
And also on Sunday the two Winnipeg teams, the Nomads Wolf Pack and the Manitoba Fearless go head to head.
This weekend has 6 of the 7 WWCFL teams all kicking off their season. The Lethbridge Steel has a bye and takes on the Calgary Rage the following weekend in Calgary.
There will be close to 200 women, aged 16-45+, playing tackle football this weekend, what a great way to spend Mother's Day!!
Bring the family and friends to the field and watch Mom play tackle football on her day!
Some of these women are playing for the first time, some have had a few games of experience but all have the same desire and drive to play tackle football.
"We are incredibly excited about our 2nd season, especially that we have interest to expand into Kelowna (BC), Red Deer (AB), Okotoks (AB), Sexsmith (AB) and Brandon (MB). There are a lot of women that just want to play tackle football" says Linda Craig, President of the WWCFL.
This season's WWCFL Championship Game will be in Saskatoon on July 14 and you can bet there will be amazing football being played leading up to that game!
